For anyone that has never owned a little male, you do not know what you are missing out on. If we didn’t need both sexes to get a litter, we would only have little males. They are the sweetest puppies!

This is why we think little boys are the greatest!

Does a male or a female make a better pet for you and your family?

It’s not uncommon for people to believe that a female dog will make a better pet. We get a lot of emails from people wanting that “special little girl”. For whatever reason they don’t think that females will exhibit “alpha” behaviors like humping and/or marking. A lot of people think that females are more passive and friendly and that they don’t take part in fighting over dominance, which could NOT be farther from the truth. Most fighting will usually break out between two females. Males tend to be more affectionate, exuberant, attentive, and even more demanding of attention. The males are very attached to their owners, tending to be more dedicated, reliable and less temperamental. They are more sociable, more accepting of other pets, playful for years, and take quicker to children. Most boys are easily motivated by treats/food, words of praise and are so eager to please that training actually becomes easier. Their playful nature, however, can make males more easily distracted. The boys are more likely to act silly and more puppy-like, always wanting to play games, no matter what their age. The boys are fun-loving until the day they die, whereas girls tend to be more standoffish and dignified the older they get. Neutered males rarely exhibit secondary sexual behavior such as marking and lifting their legs or humping. Once the testosterone levels recede after neutering, most of these behaviors will disappear if they ever existed. Boys who were neutered early (by five to six months of age) usually don’t ever raise their leg to urinate. So before making your decision on that age old dilemma of male verses female, hopefully this will give you some helpful info to think about.

Welcome to our Nursery…..

Here are a few things to know about our puppies.

We don’t wean our puppies but let the mom tell us when she is tired of them. We feed them Diamond Natural Small & Medium Breed Puppy food because it is all natural with no wheat, soy or corn. We add in Bella Chicken or Lil Cesar grilled chicken making sure to moisten the kibble and coat it evenly with the wet food. A sample of food as well as a toy with mom & littermates scent on it is given when a puppy is ready to leave for his/her new home.

Once the puppies are weaned they are transferred to a larger playpen made by Iris. This allows them to interact with our adults and see them playing but keeps them safe until they are old enough to run throughout our home with them. We do not have kennels any longer since we only have 5-6 breeding females at any time. Food & water is always available for them. Please read our page, Teacup Info for information on Hypoglycemia and what you should do if they show any sign of it.

We worm our puppies at 2, 4, & 6 weeks and at 7 wks., they are given Ponazuril for any trace of Coccidiosis. They receive their first vaccination at 7 wks. of age and another one is given at 10 wks. if they are still here with us.
Our puppies are sold with APR registration or AKC limited registration papers unless they are sold w/o papers. A personal check is ok provided it has time to clear, usually 5-7 days. We prefer cash for balance when you pick up your puppy. Photos are taken at 2, 4, and 6 wks. Additional ones are taken only if a puppy is still available. It takes time to make sure a puppy is groomed and ready for their photo shoot. Deposits ($500) are taken usually when a puppy is usually 2 wks. old and needs to be sent (address shown on our contract pg) to us using USPS PRIORITY MAIL with a tracking number in order for a puppy to be held. I cannot hold a puppy w/o a track number so if someone else uses Zelle on the puppy that you are wanting, you have missed out.

This is a link that we use to estimate a puppy’s size as an adult. Unless a puppy is over 12 wks. old, it’s impossible to know what size they will be. That is why we use this chart as an ESTIMATED size
